This Privacy Policy explains what data Linqt (the "Service"), operated by [Your Company Legal Name], collects, why, and how it's handled.

Information we collect

Account information you provide directly:

• Name, email address, and password (stored hashed, never in plain text).
• Content you create — short links, QR code designs, WiFi network details, contact cards, and DDNS hosts. Sensitive fields such as WiFi passwords are stored encrypted.
• Billing details, if you subscribe to a paid plan — handled directly by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your card details on our servers.

Information collected automatically when someone scans or clicks a link, WiFi QR, or hosted QR code you created:

• IP address, browser user agent, and referring page.
• Approximate location (country/city), derived from the IP address using Cloudflare's network and/or a local, offline geolocation database — not sent to any third-party lookup service.
• Device type, browser, and operating system, parsed from the user agent.

This scan data is shown to you as analytics for your own links and QR codes. It is not used to build profiles of visitors, and it is not sold to third parties.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies:

• A session cookie, to keep you signed in.
• A CSRF token cookie, to protect forms against cross-site request forgery.
• A language preference cookie/setting, if you choose a language other than the default.

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use your information

• To provide and operate the Service — creating links and QR codes, redirecting visitors, and resolving Dynamic DNS hosts.
• To show you analytics about scans and clicks on content you created.
• To process payments for paid plans, via Stripe.
• To communicate with you about your account, such as security notices or changes to these policies.
• To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms & Conditions.

Who we share data with

• Stripe, to process payments for paid plans.
• Our hosting and infrastructure providers, to run the Service.
• Law enforcement or other parties, only where required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of our users.

We do not sell your personal data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can update most account details directly in your dashboard, or contact us to request a full export or deletion of your account.

Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal or accounting reasons.

Children's privacy

The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16.

International transfers
